The Sweetest Fresh 48 Session at Mount Sinai in New York City
There is something incredibly sacred about the first hours after a baby enters the world — the quiet snuggles, the wrinkly fingers, the way time feels like it pauses for just a moment.
I recently had the absolute honor of photographing a beautiful Fresh 48 session at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, and my heart is still so full.
As a North Jersey and NYC newborn photographer, these hospital sessions will always hold a special place in my heart. They are raw, emotional, and beautifully real — exactly the kind of storytelling I love to capture.
What Is a Fresh 48 Session?
If you’re new here, a Fresh 48 session takes place within the first 24–48 hours after your baby is born, typically right in your hospital room.
Unlike posed newborn sessions, Fresh 48 photography is:
- Natural and documentary-style
- Baby-led and minimally posed
- Done right in the hospital
- Focused on real connection and emotion
At Mount Sinai, the soft window light and calm hospital rooms create the most dreamy, timeless images.
Inside This Mount Sinai Fresh 48 Session
When I arrived at Mount Sinai, baby was just hours old — still perfectly squishy and sleepy. Mom and dad were soaking in every second, and you could truly feel the love in the room.
Some of my favorite moments we captured:
- Baby’s tiny fingers wrapped around mom’s hand
- Proud dad soaking in his first cuddles
- That fresh hospital bassinet moment (always a must!)
- The sweetest family snuggles on the hospital bed
These are the moments that change so quickly — and exactly why Fresh 48 sessions are so meaningful.
Why Mount Sinai Is Beautiful for Fresh 48 Photos

What I love most:
