Fresh 48 Photos

Saint Barnabas Fresh 48 Photographer

As a newborn and maternity photographer, every session I photograph holds a special place in my heart. But there’s something uniquely emotional about documenting a Fresh 48 session for a dear friend. Recently, I had the privilege of capturing the first precious hours of life for a friend’s newborn, and it reminded me why I adore these sessions so much.
A Fresh 48 session takes place within the first 48 hours after a baby is born, often in the hospital or birthing center. It’s not just about the photos; it’s about preserving those fleeting moments when everything feels new, raw, and incredibly special. Babies change so quickly in their first week of life. Their tiny features, wrinkly skin, and the way they curl into themselves – these are things that can fade before parents even realize it.
For my dear friend, this session was particularly meaningful. I could feel the overwhelming love and joy as I documented their first moments as a family. From the way my friend looked at their baby with awe, to the soft, sleepy yawns of their little one, every detail told a story of connection and love.
What I love about Fresh 48 sessions is their authenticity. There’s no pressure for perfection – it’s about capturing the realness of this new chapter: the baby snuggled in their hospital bassinet, the quiet moments of bonding, and the emotions that fill the room. These photos are not just images; they’re memories that will be cherished for a lifetime.

As a photographer, I believe that moments like these are worth remembering. Life moves so fast, and babies grow in the blink of an eye. A Fresh 48 session freezes time, allowing parents to relive those precious first days over and over again
